Ok, their "cold-air intakes mythbusted" thing didn't really hold water for me because they did it on forced-induction cars, not a naturally aspirated one.

What they found that with the stock airbox vs a cold air intake the air was always the same temperature when it reached the throttle body because it was getting heated up by the turbocharger. Seems like they would actually be effective in a naturally-aspirated situation.

I mostly say this because I'm wanting to get an oil-free filter and clamp it into my car because STAGE 2 BRO .

Good for what it was maybe? I feel like they told part of the story. It wasn't an exhaustive set of tests (doesn't address all kinds of things like ecu changes or their use in conjunction with exhaust), but I appreciated that they attempted to quantify their results (acknowledging that quantifying does automatically yield validity). Also, they just make me laugh.

99% of the reason I'm doing it is because a large filter looks badass in the engine bay.

Also it allows me to say I have PERFORMANCE MODS to go with all the ricing I'm doing to my car.

Also I can throw around meaningless bullshit like " YEAH MY BUICK HAS A STAGE TWO INTAKE SYSTEM COME@ME BROGAIN FOAM."
